Dan McConchie Responds to President Obama’s Speech Before the Illinois Legislature

SPRINGFIELD, February 10, 2015 – Dan McConchie, candidate for Illinois State Senate in the 26th District, responded to President Obama’s address given before the legislature today.

“Today President Obama called for compromise and change in Illinois,” stated Dan McConchie. “It’s the Democrats who have so far refused to come to the table with the Governor. Our state has the highest unemployment rate in the Midwest, the lowest credit rating in the nation and the 2nd highest property taxes. What we need are structural changes in order to provide the stability to get the state back on track.”

McConchie continued:

“Illinois under Mike Madigan and the Democrats in charge looks even worse than it did seven years ago when Barack Obama became President. Their leadership has been a dismal failure. It’s time for a leadership change in Illinois.

“Democrats have put their political interests ahead of the needs of our families by refusing to compromise with Governor Rauner on reforms that would save our state. I’m going to Springfield to take on this do-nothing legislature and support Governor Rauner’s reforms like redistricting that even President Obama championed today.”
