Dan McConchie Praises Governor Rauner’s State of the State Address; Calls on Democrats to Come to the Table

SPRINGFIELD, January 27, 2015 – Dan McConchie, candidate for Illinois State Senate in the 26th District, praised Governor Rauner’s proposals outlined in his 2016 State of the State address given before the legislature today and encouraged Democrats in the legislature to come to the table and negotiate with the Governor and Republicans.

“It is refreshing to hear the Governor passionately lay out the need for fundamental reform,” stated Dan McConchie. “He outlined concrete proposals for pension reform, education reform, property tax relief and improvements to the way Illinois delivers services. He put specific plans and numbers on the table that can save taxpayers hundreds of millions of dollars. These are common sense solutions that should have broad support as we face our fiscal crisis together.”

McConchie continued:

“The Governor is providing real leadership by demonstrating a willingness to work out real solutions. There’s plenty of room for common ground. What’s needed at this point is for Democrats to sit down and negotiate these pressing issues in good faith. It’s time for us to come together to create stability and opportunity for families and businesses in our state.”
